Music Memorabilia
Originally called The Downbeats, they changed their name to Paul Revere & The Raiders in 1960 on the eve of their first record
release for Gardena Records.  The band appeared regularly on national television, especially on Dick Clark's
Where the Action
Is
, Happening '68, and It's Happening, the latter two of which were co-hosted by Paul Revere and Mark Lindsay. Here they were
presented as the American response to the British Invasion. The group wore American Revolutionary War soldier uniforms and
performed slapstick comedy and synchronized dance steps while the ponytailed Lindsay lip synched to their music.  Original
bassist Phil "Fang" Volk (whose famous bass guitar hangs in the EMP (Experience Music Project) currently tours with his own
band "Fang and the Gang."  And, check out Jim "Harpo" Valley's music workshops for children at

A Rare Limited Edition
Vox Vintage Guitar
Fang has been the original owner of this Italian-Made Vintage
60s Vox Acoustic Guitar for the past 4
4 years - after being
p
ersonally presented with it by Vox during their endorsement
in 1965. This was an exclusive line hand-made in Italy and
one of the few prototypes that were made.  A first generation
& brand new entry to the Vox line of guitars.

It has traveled with Fang through all the momentous times of
rock and roll including
studios, backstage, dressing
rooms, hotel rooms and after-concert parties.
This
exclusive guitar generated interest from some of the
greatest rockers of that time; it has been played, handled and
touched by the best  (i.e. Brian Jones, David Crosby, Donovan,
Ricky Nelson, Frank Zappa,  Harry Nilsson, Byrds, Mamas and
the Papas, Beach Boys, etc.)  The guitar has pedigree: with a
rich tone and well-aged.

This Vox Acoustic "Country-Western" guitar is made of
Spruce wood on top & front and Mahogany wood on the sides
& back -There are some fine hairline cracks in the varnish
(see photo) - which proves the guitar is in its original state
and has never been re-finished.  An authentic vintage Vox
guitar with a history of Rock N Roll Legacy.

The original hard shell case is also included.

Rock N Roll Legacy Lives On!
R.I.P.  Drake Levin
Drake Maxwell Levinshefski (August 17, 1946 – July 4, 2009)
Drake Levin was best known as the guitarist for Paul Revere & the Raiders & was well respected by his fellow
musician friends. Music has lost a true innovative guitarist. Drake Levin was an essential part of a definitive
American  rock and roll band. His techniques, sound and ability will be remembered forever.
Ted Nugent cites him as an influence. Drake jammed with Jimi Hendrix and he played on various sessions,
including high profile albums with Lee Michaels,  Emitt Rhodes and Barry McGuire. The Late Night band leader ,
Paul Shaffer, with the Letterman Show, is quoted as saying "Drake made rock history."
